Work Categories

To set up work categories for the quality management system, select Configuration > Quality Mgmt > QMS Miscellaneous > Work Categories. Work categories are used to group standard tasks. As you create work categories, keep in mind that you will later create standard tasks and assign them to one of the work categories created here.

Additionally, you will assign these same work categories to departments when you set up the pager to work with the Task Navigator.

X. Selects a work category to be copied to another property, edited, or deleted. To select all of the work categories, use the All button and unselect the categories with the None button.

Code. Three letter code assigned to the work category. These codes cannot be duplicated.

Description. Descriptive definition of what the work category code represents.

Printer. Printer that is attached and used for the work category. By attaching a printer to a work category, a task that is generated will print to the correct printer for that specific department. This is for purposes of employees working multiple work categories during their shift.

Adding or Editing a Work Category

Provide the following information in the Work Categories - New or Work Categories - Edit screen.

Category. Three character code that will represent the work category. This field can't be changed while editing a work category.

Description. Description of what the work category code represents.

Printer. Select a printer to be used with the work category. By attaching a printer to a work category, a task that is generated will print to the correct printer for that specific department. This is for purposes of employees working multiple work categories during their shift.

Delete a Work Category

Highlight the work category to delete and press the Delete button. You cannot delete a work category that is already in use.
